The house always felt colder than it should. She noticed it after the news. The draft from the window felt like an icy hand brushing her skin. She pulled the blankets tighter, even though it was not truly cold.

She started seeing things, shadows flickering at the periphery of her vision. She would jump at any sudden noise. She felt she was being watched by invisible eyes.

She spent hours online researching the crime, trying to understand, but the more she learned, the worse it became. The information would just stay locked in her head. She was unable to sleep.
